Principle of Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure that consists in inserting a video camera into a joint or in the area surrounding it to carry out an exploration and reparation without opening it up.

This procedure has several advantages:

  • reduced surgical risk:this procedure reduces infectious risk, operative duration and healing complications;
  • shortened post-operative convalescence and immobilization, faster resumption of normal activity;
  • improved efficacy of surgery through preserved tissue vascularisation and better technical quality of repair.

Arthroscopy is thus perfectly suited to sports surgery.
